MAY 13, 2013MILSIG® Industries is pleased to announce the latest addition to our product line, The FORCE MULTIPLIER a.k.a. The FXR. After many months of design and development the highly anticipated carbine conversion kit for the Tippmann® TPX / TiPX or Tiberius® T8 / T8.1 as compliment to the magazine fed marker business. The FXR design features a high strength, light-weight, CNC machined aluminum structure with polymer inserts that slide over your pistol. This provides the user with the strength and stability needed for accurate, long range shooting that is not possible in a pistol format. The FXR transforms your pistol into a formidable MagFed platform and is packaged with a foregrip, picatinny rail, mock silencer, stock, and optional Marksman Barrel system. Pistol players often find themselves challenged on the fields with little cover that favor long range and volume shooters. The FXR changes that dynamic by transforming the pistol into a full-fledged MagFed carbine. With the optional Marksman Barrel system FIRST STRIKE capable pistols can dramatically increase their effective range and accuracy with the addition of an FXR kit.
“I am extremely excited to finally have the FXR rolling off the production line and into people’s hands. The FXR is MILSIG®’s first design attempt at incorporating other company’s equipment into one of our designs. There are over 100,000 pistol players in the paintball market and we saw an opportunity for them to re-purpose their pistols into a carbine platform that was easy to accessorize. With the growing interest in MagFed paintball I hope the FXR will provide an additional reason for them to come out and enjoy the fun.

I am further pleased to launch the FXR under the PsiOps brand. PsiOps has done a remarkable job of promoting the MagFed style of play over the last year and a half. With Tiberius® and Tippmann® pistols being at the heart of the FXR, I hope that launching the FXR under the PsiOps brand shows that MILSIG® is dedicated to making MagFed a dominate force in the paintball playing community by bringing together players and companies from all segments of the paintball market.”
— Nelson Lau, Director MILSIG INDUSTRIES.The FXR will be the first of many products launched under the PsiOps brand that will be limited production items. With the re-introduction of PsiOps, MILSIG® re-affirms its leadership as the most innovative and sustainable premium Magazine Fed Paintball company. These products and services have been conceived around a revolutionary approach: purpose, design, and functionality. Most importantly, products built for an unsurpassed Magazine Fed paintball experience.

In Addition to the release of the FXR, we are equally pleased to take part in the announcement of the ZetaMag® by Stark Pursuit® manufactured by MILSIG Industries. The ZetaMag® is a perfect complement to the FXR kit and the MILSIG® Faz Mags, and certainly lends itself well to the name Force Multiplier.

“ Peanutbutter and Jelly. Butch and Sundance. FxR and ZetaMag™. There’s some good stuff out there that gets even better when paired together. I’m excited to say that the all new ZetaMag™ by Stark Pursuit™ and the highly anticipated MILSIG® / PsiOps FxR are a match made in heaven. The FxR offers a brand new approach to upgrading today’s most popular paintball pistols. It’s rigid MILSIG® construction and unique design combined the high capacity and intuitive workflow of the versatile ZetaMag™, provide a magfed-operator with a set of tools unlike anything else on the market. I love modular systems that allow a user to customize their equipment to their comfort and needs. Granted, there will be those that prefer to keep it simple with their plain peanut butter sandwiches. But as for me, I’m excited to mix it up, step out of the box and go to town with my Zeta-equipped FxR.”
— Ian Pullens, Director, Stark Pursuit

The FXR ( beginning June, while supplies last) and the ZetaMag® will be available exclusively online and at upcoming MagFed paintball events. You can find the FXR available soon at the following MILSIG® / PsiOps approved e-commerce websites.

Necessity is the mother of invention, but the time has come for the next generation of innovators to push the envelope beyond necessity and deliver better solutions for the game ahead.

Introducing Stark Pursuit®, a new company focused on inventing products and ideas for the sport of paintball that break the mold and exceed expectations in an effort to create a more perfect player experience.

We are like you. We are players, thinkers, designers, gamers, and professionals, who challenge the status quo, attack hurdles head on, and ask the question, “what if?”

Today we are pleased to announce ZetaMagTM, a high-capacity, twin-channel, reversible paintball-magazine for pistols and SMGs, including (but not limited to) the Tippmann TPX/TiPX.

“Paintball players fond of pistol play, (including myself) have been begging for higher capacity TPX mags for years now. I got tired of waiting and decided to do something about it. But a simple extension was not good enough for Stark Pursuit. That’s when we discovered we could use the available the space more efficiently.”
— Ian Pullens, Director, Stark Pursuit

Containing two ten-round stacks of .68 caliber paint (spherical or shaped projectile), the ZetaMag is designed to feed from one channel, and then be rotated vertically on the Z-axis to feed a second full stack. By having 20 rounds available in the space of a single magazine we have effectively tripled the capacity of the default TiPX mag, yet only extending the length by four inches.

Over two years of development, the ZetaMag team has gone through great lengths, numerous iterations and challenges, in honing in the best possible extended magazine. The result is a rugged, self-contained product able to hold a large capacity of diverse rounds, without compromising on structural integrity. Features like stronger stainless steel springs for better retention and delivery, as well as an omni-protective “Dust-Boot”, are just a few indications of the thoughtfulness applied in the design.

“As a designer, personally it’s not just about doing what’s expected, and with the Zeta I think we have delivered more than anyone ever expected for the platform.”
— Scott Watrous, Principle Designer, Stark Pursuit

We at Stark Pursuit have incredibly high standards. That is why we chose to partner with with MILSIG Industries to manufacture the ZetaMag. MILSIG’s quality, durability, and experience in the magfed paintball industry is unparalleled. We are excited for the opportunity of working with this industry leader to produce such an amazing product.

MILSIG Industries is dedicated to the magfed community. The trust and encouragement they have provided in the ZetaMag project is humbling and we are honored to have them as a strategic ally.

“When Ian and Scott came to me at the Paintball Extravaganza Trade show in 2012 and showed me a prototype of the ZetaMag, I was shocked. From outside, these two diehard MagFed players came up with an idea that none of us in the industry had thought of. They took it upon themselves to innovate, experiment, and seek advice to bring their idea to fruition. I’m proud to have helped bring the ZetMag to reality, and honored that Stark chose MILSIG as their manufacturing partner. I look forward to more cool projects with Stark Pursuit in the future.”
— Nelson Lau, Director, MILSIG Industries

ZetaMag pricing will start at $25 per unit. Packaging will include one ZetaMag, one Dust-Boot, and one loading rod. The first units will be available from the Stark Pursuit booth at Living Legends VI, May 17-19, 2013. The ZetaMag will be available for sale online following the LL6 event.

Magfed And The Moto

Let’s face it: our economy still sucks.

Everything is expensive and getting worse. For instance, the National average for Unleaded gas today is $3.522 and Diesel is at $3.954 per gallon. Personally, I remember when I could buy a gallon of gas for 95 cents.

And, this part is not getting any better any time soon.

The rising costs of living have an unintended effect for our sport. Since it costs more to live and travel, some players forgo playing in favor of paying the bills.

Hello, moto.

I bought my 1983 KZ550 LTD just over a year ago as a daily commuter due to rising costs of fuel and have enjoyed the journey of translating 30 years of on and off trail bike riding to the street. I even spent the summer of 2012, briefly, as a motorcycle safety instructor. (Yes, it’s old but it’s also paid for and a good bike.)

I’ve been trying to figure out a way to put my paintball gear on my motorcycle since the day i bought it.. The fact is, I just have too much stuff.

Between hoppers, markers, vests, pouches, holsters, pods, harnesses, belts, soft goods, other scenario gear, and my tool kit, I could easily fill a 30 gallon drum.

Yeah… I can’t figure out how to get one on my motorcycle either.

I did take my motorcycle to SuperGame 43 (as a ref) without anything more than a couple of masks and overnight gear but, that’s different. A day pack and some light gear versus all the stuff I need or, at least, what I think I need, to play.

Making a break for it.

A recent event helped me out.

I decided to attend a night game scenario at Red Dot Paintball’s field at the Horn Rapids Motorsports Complex outside of Richland, WA and right on the Red Dot “Prison Break” game flyer it said, right at the top, “be ready to play on arrival!”

Now, I’m notoriously late for the start of every game. The previous scenario at Red Dot, I was the CO and only made it on the field in time for one start.

I was suddenly very motivated.

I spent two days plotting about which gear to actually take, how to configure it, and how to get it on the motorcycle. The logistics of paring down so much paintball gear that I constantly pack around, plus the motorcycle gear I needed to wear, including the extra gear needed to successfully return home after that game in below freezing temperatures made for some interesting decisions.

Much to my amazement, I was successful.

I managed to be the first to arrive, the first ready to play, and the first looking over the field to determine strategy.

Pack light.

But, what about the gear?
Obviously, the motorcycle gear wasn’t negotiable nor was the extra gear I needed for the trip home. What was negotiable was the paintball gear that i was going to take with me.

I decided that the answer was in my Spyder MRX and two Ariakon pistols (of which my Ariakon ACP 2.0 was selected).
I’ve gone mag fed only before at games and discovered that the skills I used before needed great adjustment. When i changed to pistol primary, I found, I could no longer count on lobbing rounds in the general direction and hoping for a chance hit. I only had 10 rounds topping my Ariakon Overlord RX and ACP 2.0 which left me at a great disadvantage if I continued to play “hang back” tactics. Even with both fists full of pistol, I only had 20 rounds and had to get a lot more sneaky and much closer before I opened up.

So what about the Spyder MRX?
Well… Let me talk about that for a bit.

I typically set up a marker with optics of some sort to get my first shot a little closer to the target. I haven’t taken the time to do that with my MRX because I haven’t spent the time or effort to do the setup. Part of that is because the optics I prefer don’t fit on the marker while using a hopper.

But that’s not going to stop me this time around. Part of my plan means going mag fed again and that means my Pinokio and Vmax won’t even be leaving the house.

Instead, I packed up my the MRX with my only mag loaded and the optics from another marker attached, the ACP 2.0 with 4 fully loaded mags, a few pods worth of extra paint, a pod with some tactical smoke (just in case I found a use), a MOLLE pod pack harness, and ten round tubes. I loaded them on the bike with my tool kit and a backpack and headed out to the game at a leisurely pace down the freeway.

Riding into the sunset.

As a first trip with the gear, it was wonderful.

I learned that I could go to a game, save some gas, and that I didn’t need as much gear as I think I do. Considering this, it’s indeed time for me to pick up a few more mags for my MRX and stride deeper into mag fed than I ever have before.

Now… What to do about OK Dday…

MILSIG INDUSTRIES PARTNERS WITH V.I.C.E.

We (MILSIG Industries) are proud to announce partnership with V.I.C.E (Villains In Criminal Enterprise) MagFed Paintball team based out of Toronto, Canada. Their unprecedented dedication to MagFed paintball coupled with their talent for promotion has earned them their place among those recognized by the worlds premier MagFed Paintball brand.

“VICE is honoured and proud to be partnered with MILSIG. We play hard and value reliability and consistency above all else; partnering with the premiere brand in MagFed paintball is a dream come true for the entire team. We couldn’t be more excited about this arrangement.” – Chris Hodgins

VICE was founded in 2010 by Chris Hodgins and Denys Kololenko and is based in Toronto Ontario. While working at CQB Tactical paintball, they saw what the paintball community in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) had to offer and were not happy. They decided that they would make their own team; one that would be the antithesis of what was already available.

Being referees at CQB Tactical gave them the ability to scout the best talent in the GTA. In three short years V.I.C.E. has slowly grown to a 12 man team of the most aggressive and courteous MagFed paintball players to hit the field. Since 2012, V.I.C.E. has become renown for their fast paced paintball videos, inspiring people to get in to the sport and showing seasoned pros that playing MagFed is a lot of fun.

After hours of R&D, trips to the machine shop, as well as ruining a number of phenom bolts and going through countless broken First Strike Rounds, I am happy to announce that we have a successful MKP bolt prototype that is capable of reliably shooting the first strike round (FSR) in full auto using the DMAGs.

The stock bolt of the Tacamo MKP and MKP-II markers normally clips the fins of “Shaped Projectiles” that are in the pre-chamber (next round after the one in the chamber) due to its shape and dimensions. In order for the bolt to pass successfully by the pre-chambered round, it needed to be modified to change the shape and dimensions of the bolt. Many issues needed to be addressed and accommodated for the marker to fire properly and consistently while solving the problem of clipping the pre-chambered round.

After a long early morning discussion of this issue Omar Macy of RAP4 and a few conversations with selective paintball enthusiasts including myself and fellow team mates, Anthony of SAVOY 6 spent the better part of two weeks at a local machine shop in an attempt to solve this problem.

The result was several bolt prototypes which were then rigorously tested in my very own workshop (garage) and put through their paces for data analysis. Some of the bolt prototypes reduced the clipping on the FSR fins by more than 50%; some eliminated it completely but also decreased the velocity and air efficiency of the marker and some were did a combination of both. All until we made one of the many prototype bolts (almost by accident) that not only eliminated the clipping of the pre-chambered First Strike rounds but also fired them consistently in full auto with no issues.

We tested this bolt through many DMAGs with different types of regular paint and FSR and did not have one single break. Our next step is to try to successfully replicate the bolt for a few of our teammates, so that we can test them further to make sure that they can be replicated to function properly.

If this is successful, we will then attempt to work with a reputable company to make the MKP FSR bolt available to the general public while at the same time utilizing any proceeds to assist us in our team goal of supporting Veteran charities.

There are lots of guys that like to mod their paintball guns. Most projects are hideous hack jobs that look like they dropped their marker in to a Blendtec blender. (Will it blend?) At the same time, there are also thousands of players that like to dress up in tactical battle-rattle and call them selves “milsim” but then don’t know the first thing about tactics or operating within unit. But then there are those who do it right. Every once in while there is a modder that I come across on the inter-webs that consistently turns out top quality work. Koosha Arabi is one of those few rising stars in magfed paintball who talks the talk AND walks the walk.

I had seen many of his project pictures and videos on facebook and had heard of his RAP4-sponsored tactical team Savoy 6 out of Southern California. Every interaction I had seen from Koosh appeared to be with great professionalism and respect toward his fellow players. But despite Koosha’s growing notoriety, he’s actually very humble and tries to shy away from any limelight. He’s a player first. He’s passionate about his sport and hist craft and he builds and customizes for himself (and sometimes for others,) to help satisfy that passion.

I approached Koosh a short time ago about contributing to MagFedPB as I thought his voice and perspective would be a great addition for the magfed community. So to get started, I wanted to get to know the man bit better. Here is what I found:

When did you start playing paintball?

The very first time I played paintball was in 2004. I went along with some college friends to play walk-ons at a local field in Los Angeles called Hollywood Sports Park (HSP) and it was a typical noob story where we had 98 rentals and we were getting owned by 13 year old kids with egos and bob longs.

Eventually after a few years of watching paintball markers get cheaper and more realistic; I eventually transitioned into paintball from the love of firearms. I have two annual gun club memberships (indoor and outdoor) and I’m an avid and active shooter. I use to spend thousands of dollars on accessories and ammo alone, not counting how expensive firearms are to begin with. Paintball was always unattractive to me because of its typical speedball guys on the woodsball fields wearing neon colored jerseys and shooting ropes with their space guns looking markers. it seemed like whoever had the most money to invest in a thousand plus dollar marker and electric hopper and can afford a couple of cases of paint every weekend is typically the winner. It wasn’t until I saw T68 style markers from RAP4 that I started to think it could be much more fun and affordable to play paintball. I figured that in doing so, I could spend less time at the range and use my skills and do some real life running and gunning! So, instead of spending $350 on a hand guard I was going to buy for one of my firearms, I got myself a Gen6 T68 and I was hooked!

However, I did not start playing full time (every weekend) until 2010 when I joined SAVOY 6. My first marker was that Gen6 T68, and a TPX as a secondary.

What is your favorite field to play magfed?

My favorite style of Magfed Paintball game is MOUT (Military Operation in Urban Environments) so naturally the CQB (close quarter combat) style fields are the most attractive for that style of play. I generally shy away from the old style of woods play, specially using magfed. The most common places I play are SC Village and Hollywood Sports Park.

When you play magfed is it “milsim no compromises” or “not that serious it’s still just paintball”?

You cannot take out paintball from the game, but in order to keep the competitive edge in competitions, my teammates and I tend to use military style equipment (NVGs, IR lasers and illuminators) as well as tactics in the game so it naturally becomes milsim no compromises.

Air in stock or remote line?

I have both options, for quick style tournament style timed games (1 vs 1, 2 vs 2 and 3 vs 3) I tend to use the tank in stock option but for the long scenario style games I use the straight remote line.

Respawn or Elimination?
Magfed with its limited ammo and its milsim nature gravitates more towards elimination style of games. Respawn would only make sense in very long engagements where the person who shot the respawning party can actually go off the field to reload.

Pepsi or Coke?

I stay away from drinks that contain a lot of sugar and prefer water over anything. But if I had to choose, I’d say Coke.

How long have you been modding guns? How did you get in to it?

This is going to be an article on its own, but I started modding guns once I noticed I could work on them to increase their performance and looks. I started with just stock factory mods such as hand guards, stocks, barrels and moved into electronic boards and performance mods like cyclone upgrades, Lok bolt and Anti Chop bolts.

After a while, I came to the conclusion that the cyclone and rips clip fed markers, which I consider the Gray area of milsim, are pointless. If you want to play Milsim you go Magfed, and if you want to play big games or walk on you go with a midrange speed ball marker like an AXE or Etha. After this realization, I turned all my milsim markers into magfed; but I noticed I had a couple of repetitive markers. So I started thinking about the different roles and load outs I could use them for and how I could change their ascetics to fit the part. I generally don’t like copying other people, so if I happen to have the same style accessories, its not because I saw someone else’s marker and decided to emulate it’s design. I’ve usually thought it out by myself, even if I wasn’t the first or the only one to mod a gun in that way.

With that comes whole lot of creative thinking along with trial and error. Luckily I have some very intelligent teammates on SAVOY6 who are very crafty, creative and skilled with their hands. They were able to show me how to use the right tools for the right job and the sky was the limit from then on.

What gun have you modded the most? why?

The two guns I have modded the most are the Tippmann TPX (TiPX) and the MKP (Tippmann Phenom)

The main reason was purely because they are Tippmanns! They work out of the box, and are very durable and easy to maintain. The second reason was, that those are the markers I have two or more of and I wanted to work around what I had.

The most notable and unique Mods I have done are:

TiPX Carbine FS ready with tank in stock

MKP ACR

MKP M249 Ranger

MK3 MOE Handguard

I have done other mods like the TiPX FS ready Herra Carbine but it wasn’t so unique in its design.

Do you mod to use first strike rounds?

No, generally when I mod a marker, my primary intent isn’t to make it FS ready and that’s for a few different reasons. There are many advantages of using FS rounds and those are obvious to most. But for me, my style of play is CQB and we have designated marksman on our team to take on that role. The benefit of being on a team is that one man doesn’t need to do it all. Secondly, the reason I play paintball every weekend is due to its affordable cost. If I want to spend forty cents on each round, I rather go buy some 45 ACP. I did however mod my tpx to be FS ready in case I want to use it as a primary. When I do so, I carry two FS mags on me, the rest are loaded with regular paintballs.

Would you rather be more known for playing or modding?

I am not big on being known. Some players create their own facebook fan pages and I’m just not into that. I play to have fun with my teammates, and to compete and most importantly to get that adrenaline sensation running through my veins. Recently, I have done a few videos to meet our obligations to provide quality content to our sponsor and I have got some followers who periodically contact me with all kinds of questions. At first I was hesitant to add people on facebook I am not likely to ever meet in person but since the messages started pouring in, I couldn’t ignore them. I love sharing my experience and knowledge to help players and I don’t mind it at all, but I would never go start a fan page for myself. Moreover, I only mod markers to use them and I generally don’t post pictures of them on forums or blogs and that’s mainly because I don’t want them popping up everywhere and have people take credit for my work. However, through some of those recent videos people around the world have seen my gun rack and have asked me to built them similar custom markers which I am happy to do. I hope this sport eventually graduates to standardized style tournament play and that I can possibly be known as a good player who happens to be good at modding.

The best paintball games are less than or more than 100 players?

The best paintball games are the ones that use small unit tactics. It doesn’t matter how many players are in the game, as long as units are divided in groups of 10-12 and each member has a role to play. Playing with SAVOY6 has always given me the pleasure of working with an established group of players who can implement small unit tactics in any style of play, regardless of the size of the game. If I was an individual player without a team, I would gravitate toward games that use divided units rather than separating everyone in half and letting them loose

You can have any real world gun as a paintball marker. What is it?

I love too many guns to pick from. But I always wanted a close to real life M4 and AK47 and I don’t just mean the asthetics of it, I am talking about functionality, from the charging handle down to the bolt release. So far, the 468 is the closest thing to an M4, but it still does not perfectly imitate the function due to the lack of bolt locking back on last shot, not being able to chamber check as well as lacking the ability to release the bolt with a button upon mag change. The future T15 looks promising, but there is no real information about its function or whether it will even have an upper and lower break down. I’m also fairly sure the bolt will not lock back on the marker nor will it likely contain a bolt release mechanism.

Standardization of paintball magazines. Yes or no. Why?

Absolutely! But that’s if the design is reliable and fool proof. That way it will be cheap and there will be plenty of parts to rebuild them, just like AR15 mags. We are definitely moving the right direction with RAP4’s 468 being cross compatible with the popular Scarab Arm mags, but the manufactures need to focus more on mag designs and create an open patent or at least an agreement to build their markers around the same proven mag design. This would benefit the sport greatly because more people will get into magfed if items such as magazines were easier to acquire and more reliable. Most important though, it would benefit the players from an economic standpoint as competition between companies selling the same product would bring down the price of magazines .

You have to fill in for Ron Burgundy tonight. What’s your sign off catch phrase?

“Stay Tactical my friends, and until I see you on the field… Koosh, out!”

Thank you, Koosha. I’m looking forward to seeing what you work on next.

This past year Scarab Arms chose me to be one of their prototype testers of the TGR2, and few months ago Steven Ratté was kind enough to send me a second marker. I’m glad to say that RL-Tech Workshop and Scarab Arms have become good friends and have established a good working relationship.

Something you can notice, the TGR2 is one of the lighter markers in the industry, weighs ridiculously nothing, and for me that is a big plus. The marker design is ambidextrous, the mag-release, selector switch and sling hook are set on both sides of the marker and the charging handle is placed like a real M4 / M16; beside the marker comes with a chamber window which is a big help, either for load confirmation or chops.

The marker is 0.68 caliber and is compatible with First Strike rounds and the One Two One Rounds, with optional magazines of 12 and 18 rounds. Something I like about the mags besides the “Pmag Style” is that they don’t have ball bearings anymore. Even though I haven’t had any problems with my other brands mags, it’s time consuming to clean after every game. The marker is constructed of T6 Aluminum alloy with Nylon Fiber. Something I really like about the TGR2 is that it has a “Cross-brand” magazine platform, compatible with RAP4, Milsig and ofcourse Scarab Arms magazines. The grip is also compatible with most M4/M16 grips and/or Airsoft (GBBR series).

Right out of the box you get a RIS Handguard (Which is removable), a 16″ barrel in a free-floating system, a set of irons sights built in metal, 2 mags (one of each), 2 stock shells (One for 90g C02, one for 13ci HPA) and a hard case for traveling.
The Spring Kit…

I know this marker has caused controversy because it doesn’t have an external velocity adjuster, and at the start I thought it was crazy and I was skeptical, probably influenced for “What’s common” in paintball.

Now to this day I would like to say I like the idea of spring kits, yes, as a player I am sure it will consume more time than just taking an allen key to regulate my marker, but as an event organizer I can say this solves many problems. I live (I believe we all do) in a paintball community where the player thinks HE SHOULD play at the limit, in other words, if the FPS limit is 300, he probably will want to set his marker at 300, well, the spring kit will sets your marker to a regulated speed according to most fields, 260FPS, 280FPS and the list goes on. Yeah, I know that the velocity is affected by the length of the barrel, the weight of the paintballs, and the action air source, that’s what I meant by being a time consumer. When I first started playing paintball, I used to change my setup frequently, now I hardly change a thing on my marker, I found a sweet spot for weight, look and performance. I believe it’s part of the experience of magfed. If you reach your sweet spot you will hardly change the springs and leave your marker set to the perfect FPS for your regular field games. Ofcourse all of this is based on my experience and career and may change. Some may agree, some may disagree, but one thing is true; players won’t be able to raise their speed above 300FPS mid-game with this system, at least not as easily with a conventional velocity adjuster.

That being said, I still think the marker needs a velocity adjuster, not because the marker is going above 300FPS, but to attack the market, I believe the velocity adjuster is a marketing strategy for Scarab Arms and their next product, which will probably be the R1 (ACR-1 / SCAR-L ).

The marker has lots of potential, doesn’t lack on design and their mags are affordable, First Strike compatible, $10 cheaper than any other brand (except Dmags) and they have an aggressive look right out of the box.
A quick chat we had with Steven Ratté.

How does it feel to be part of the newest paintball manufacture on the market?

Feels great. I am very happy to be part of a company that is so forward thinking when it comes to magfed paintball.

What is Scarab Arms strategy for this 2013?

Well, we are going to bring the manufacture to the player. We are planning on going to most of the big games with our Factory Team, the SRAF; headed by the Canadian division Steven Ratté and Andre Forget. We are also trying to keep the repair centers in every main country.
We have one in the USA headed by Cody Volk and one in Canada. This keeps service at the highest of quality.

I know you have 2 major projects at the front door, the One2One and the TGR1; what can you tell us about it?

What can I say about the One2One, the idea of this is to make a riffled paintball round that is affordable for the masses. The main features are that they can be field specific colors. Second is that the round is a Foam base and won’t leave chunks of plastic on the field or on the player. And the price point is $29.99 per 100. As for the TGR1, I can’t really say much, as we are releasing a press kit next week. I will forward it to you so you can add a part 2 to this interview, it will include the pricing and dates of release.

As you saw, I focused on the spring kit, merely because of the controversy, as part of Scarab Arms, how do you see the player’s reaction to this?

What can I say about the spring kits that have not been said? We feel it’s a great alternative for multiple reasons. Less moving parts, better fps consistency, safer for fields as there is no longer any way to up your fps once you chrono, less time in the chrono line (if the field is set at 270FPS then you put the 270FPS spring and your good), no tools needed. I could write pages of why they are great but, I’m sure you would get bored. Those are the main points and our videos speak for themselves concerning the fps.

Command Decisions had to say:

Outstanding job from all teams that participated! Huge THANKS to our sponsors! Valken, CDWC, Carmatech Engineering and MilSig for supplying prizes and tech support for this event. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Team ODX for a flawless job of running all 6 events! Job well done brothers! And last but not least, Col Mustard, Josh “Joker” Justice and Mike “Flash” Hall for donating your time to make paintballers look good and being ambassadors to the sport we all love!
Highlights were: Incredible shooting by Dave Williams nailing the 200 ft target 21 times and the 300 ft target 5 times in 2 minutes! The speed of Vincent and David on the endurance run and making the shot with Valken’s Redemption paintballs. “TAZ” making long distance shots with a pistol. David Cady for making a 178 foot shot from the back of a moving “Duece and a half”….in the kneeling position!!! “Stretch and Chad Moore making a 30.38 second run throught the TAPSAC range with Milsig Magfed markers, when the total fastest time was 29.78 with an A5 and a speedball marker! Many more amazing shots and moves made today to add to the debate of “can a paintball sniper be effective in a game?” I think that these 10 teams proved that a paintball sniper is VERY effective! Planning is already starting for the next one…so “stay frosty.”…LOL
